Prepare both phones
Charge both devices, connect them to stable Wi-Fi and update the old phone’s apps. Check the new phone has enough storage. Confirm that you know the Google Account password, current screen lock and any manufacturer account credentials.
Run a fresh backup and verify photo sync. Do not erase or trade in the old phone before checking the result on the new one.
